1. Crazy Hair Day

A real hit at school fundraisers, but perfect wherever you need to raise funds!

Have the children (or attendees to your event) make a donation for the 'privilege' of sporting the craziest hair style possible.

We had great fun with this one year, when our son's hair had grown quite long and we'd planned on cutting it short anyway - we simply cut half and left the other half long! Other kids had multi-colored hair, spiky hair... the possibilities are endless - and hilarious!

2. Pay To Have People Arrested and Thrown Into 'Jail'

Have someone dressed as a policeman at your fundraising event, complete with a set of handcuffs, and set up an area as your 'jail'. People can pay the policeman to 'arrest' friends and relatives and throw them into 'jail' for a period of time (usually about 10 minutes!).

This event provides great photo opportunities!

3. Pay to Throw Wet Sponges at a Kind Volunteer

Another big hit at school fundraisers (where the volunteer is a teacher), this idea also works anywhere!

Just have guests pay to hurl wet sponges at your long-suffering volunteer, who sits patiently in a seat just waiting to be pelted!

4. Dinnerware Smashing!

Have everyone donate unwanted bowls, plates, dishes etc before your event (you'll be AMAZED at how much you'll get). Stuff like this is usually hard to sell, but people will happily pay to smash it because it's so much fun!

Just set up the breakables on a table or against a wall, give the guests a hard object to throw at them, and encourage them to let loose!

Just be sure to leave a large 'no man's land' all the way around for safety reasons.

5. Crab Races

If you live in an area with lots of hermit crabs, just collect a few in a bucket, paint a number on the shell of each one, then get people to pay a certain amount ($5 or so) to bet on the crab of their choice.

Mark out a large circle on the ground and - when ready to start - empty the crabs right into the middle of the circle.

First crab to the outer edge of the circle is the winner - and the winner receives half the 'pot'... your fundraiser receives the rest!

When we hold one of these events we call it...'Nascrab!'.

6. Lady-Less Fashion Show

One of our favorite funny fundraising ideas, the Lady-Less Fashion Show is so easy to put together, yet creates a memorable event that people will talk about for months!

Simply hold a fashion show... where all the models are MEN, wearing their wives (or other ladies') clothing!

Have helpers donate snacks and drinks, then sell tickets to your event.

This works really well when everyone knows each other - there won't be a dry eye in the house (they'll be crying with laughter, that is!).

Funny Ideas for Fundraiser Invitations

If you plan on sending out invitations for a funny fundraising event, add a touch of humor to the invitations. You can accomplish this with both snail mail invitations and electronic invites.

Here are a few ideas for adding a humorous touch to your invitations. Include one or more of the following:

If you choose to have a Masked Ball, you can ask attendees to either purchase or make their own funny masks to wear to your fundraiser.
